About Me
Meet Kippi
Welcome, friends! A bit about me…
I discovered my love for writing in Jr. High School, through a creative writing class. Over the years, I continued in my writing with an emphasis on poetry. A variety of my poems have received publication. I am a member of Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets (WFOP) and Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). Colors I See is my first picture book, celebrating colors through children’s poems, vivid photographs and watercolor illustrations.
I received a degree in social work, formerly working with children and families. Following my years as a social worker, I was a daycare teacher, assisting preschool children with early learning skills. Currently, I volunteer and serve on the board of a local coffeehouse that provides family outreach programs. I assist school-age children in academic, social and life skills.
I enjoy writing from my attic nook, where I have an eagle’s eye view of our scattered chickens pecking about the yard, and the snaking Rock River across the road. If I am not busy with writing, you may find me drifting inside a vintage store, reading in a quiet spot, or sipping a hot latte. I live in more than a century-old farmhouse with my husband, which holds all the laughter and jostling activities of our grown children and grandsons. We live in the small, scenic town of Mayville, WI.
